2007 Hospitality Awards in Bloomington, Indiana
If you're planning a getaway weekend, you might need some ideas on where to go, and where to stay and what to do when you get there. The Bloomington Convention and Visitors Bureau presented the 2007 Hospitality Awards on a Thursday evening in May during a reception at the John Waldron Arts Center. Awards were given in several categories, recognizing both individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the tourism industry over the past year. In addition, winners were announced for this year's National Tourism Week Photography Contest, "The Funky Side of B-town."
The best of the best in Bloomington attractions, restaurants and lodging properties receive recognition each year during National Tourism Week. The CVB awards area tourism industry partners annually for their enthusiastic participation in bringing visitors to the county and helping to ensure their positive travel experiences by going above and beyond ordinary levels of customer service.
CVB interim executive director, Laura Newton said, "We are proud of all of our industry partners, both on the front lines and those behind the scenes. We all work together to create a quality visitor experience and make tourism the third largest industry in Monroe County. National Tourism Week is our chance to send a big thanks out to everyone who helps make Bloomington a great place to visit."
