Some of my favorite places to eat in Fairbanks, Alaska
In Fairbanks, Alaska, dining options are as varied as you could ask for - everything from fresh Alaskan seafood, locally made ice cream, gourmet Italian, locally roasted coffee, homey family-style dining, to traditional Asian foods and more. Some of my local favorites include: Mocha Dan's : Mocha Dan's Cafe now open in the Co-Op Plaza. Serving gourmet coffee drinks, blended drinks, fruit smoothies and baked goods. Open 7 am-6 pm weekdays, 8 am-5 pm Saturday. Also has several drive-through locations conveniently located around town. A great place to stop if you're like me and consider coffee to be one of the major food groups!
The Pump House : A National Historic Site and internationally acclaimed restaurant situated on the scenic banks of the Chena River serving Fresha Alaskan Seafood and Wild Game. A great place to go for happy hour with friends, karaoke, or a fancy dinner party with friends, family, or business associates. The Pump House has a lovely deck for riverside dining in the summer, and an authentic Alaskan feel. Watch out for the bear in the lobby!
Gambardella's Pasta Bella:Excellent Italian cuisine, a great place for a romantic dinner or a casual lunch. From their appetizers to dessert and everything in between, absolutely delicious!
Hot Licks Homemade Ice Cream: Made in Fairbanks since 1986, Hot Licks is today the only super-premium homemade ice cream made in Alaska. Please stop by and enjoy a cone, sundae or shake. Hot Licks is also in the Best Western Hotel on South Cushman Street and at the Santa Claus House in North Pole.
The Cookie Jar Restaurant: Join us for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; we have outdoor seating in summer. Open 7 days a week. Specializing in Espresso, desserts, sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, steaks, pasta, seafood. Fairbanks' favorite breakfasts, homemade cinnamon rolls. Enjoy treats from our Micro-bakery. We are a smoke-free restaurant.
The Turtle Club:Fine dining in a rustic atmosphere. Featuring succulent prime rib and Alaskan seafood, and a fabulous salad bar - a great restaurant for a romantic dinner for two, a holiday dinner party, or a family get-together.
